The 22 ARC is what the 5.56 NATO should have been all along. One benefit is that long bullets in short barrels retain their velocity — flying flatter and hitting harder at range despite lower muzzle velocity — better than the stubby bullets with which the 5.56 NATO case is handicapped. With high-BC bullets in a short-fat case (representing the largest diameter case-head that can double-stack for maximum ammo capacity within an AR15 magazine well), 22 ARC represents the pinnacle of .22 caliber capability in America’s favorite black rifle. Loaded with short, light bullets for screaming velocity at short-range or long, sleek bullets that retain their velocity at long range — and everything in-between — the low-recoil 22 ARC does it all. Ideal for target shooting, varminting, and smaller big game.
