BOLT CARRIER

• Carrier body machined from aircraft-quality 8620 steel, with a black nitride surface finish for all-weather durability
• M16-style; for semi-auto shooters, this refers to the weight of the carrier relative to tuning your action's gas-system; the weight of an M16-style carrier provides a well-balanced system — not-too-heavy, not-too-light — and is the industry standard to which other carrier weights refer
• Carrier key machined from 4130 steel, uses properly-staked Grade 8 screws, black nitrided
• Carrier has 19 serrations on the tail where they belong to work with a forward assist, and none on the head where they would only make a jam worse (thus removing serrations from the head makes these carriers idiot-proof). You get the added benefit of not having to pick grit and crap out of the serrations that are exposed to the elements in the ejection port — and there are no serrations to shuck that grit and crap back into the receiver every time the bolt cycles. Just wipe clean!
• Finally, and most important, slick-sided carriers make Eugene Stoner smile from his grave, presenting a smooth retro look as he intended, for St. Stoner was mightily displeaseth by the heretical forward assist "General Wheeler Button." (Just to be clear, our carriers DO work with forward assists because they keep the serrations on the tail where they'll actually do some good — best-of-both-worlds kind of thing.)
